I'm Not Crazy

I get it. You don't hear voices. You're relatively in touch with reality. No, you're not crazy, but you may need counseling. Let's talk!

You don't have to be "crazy" to go to counseling.

Many people believe that only "crazy people" seek mental health care. The truth is that very strong people go to therapy. It's not an easy thing to discuss personal issues with a stranger..being vulnerable and trusting their ability to help.

So....How do I know if I need counseling?

I'm glad you asked. Most of us could benefit from a session or two with a professional counselor. However, most people decide to see a therapist when their life has become unmanageable. They aren't able to keep it together like they once were. Emotions have become too hard to control, making it difficult to interact with others, to manage daily duties and personal responsibilities, or to get through the day at work. You may feel stuck in a relationship, a job, a mood, or a life that just doesn't fit you. You may feel hopeless about the future, or helpless to change things. You may feel so anxious or afraid that you are struggling to get it together and people are starting to notice. Or maybe you just don't recognize the person staring back at you in the mirror. If any of this describes you, you might benefit from counseling. You're not crazy. You're human.
